How does the free allowance work?
Your first 1,000 images are free. After that, activate a Personal, Home or Power licence for unlimited local renaming and processing. There are no image credit top-ups.
Can I speak a filename instead of typing?
Yes. Use offline dictation or choose optional Online AI speech. You can pause between words, review the suggested name and edit it before saving. Clear lets you start again, and the activity indicator shows microphone input. Accuracy depends on your voice, microphone and surroundings.
What is sent online?
Offline dictation stays on your PC. If you choose Online AI, your spoken recording is sent to 3DJ and OpenAI for transcription. Your images and videos are never uploaded. Online speech requires a 3DJ sign-in and internet connection.
Is online speech included in my licence?
Online speech is free during testing, with a default fair-use limit of 100 recordings per account per day. It does not use AI credits. Your permanent licence covers unlimited local renaming and processing; future online speech terms may change after testing.
When is my new filename saved?
Next, Previous and Finish save a new name when one is present. The app makes the name valid for Windows. Correct the suggested text before continuing, and return to a recent folder to resume your batch.
Can I improve or resize a whole folder?
Yes. Choose photograph corrections, automatic optimisation or resizing, then process the folder with a progress display. You can process images without renaming. Correction tools apply to supported photographs; videos can be previewed and renamed, with playback depending on installed codecs.
How are my originals protected?
Processing backups are enabled by default in a backup subfolder, and you can choose another location. Keep backups when applying corrections: processing re-encodes photographs and removes embedded metadata and colour profiles. To backup moves an unwanted file out of the batch; Delete uses the Windows deletion dialog.
Which licence should I choose?
Personal covers 1 PC, Home covers 3 PCs and Power covers 5 PCs. Each is a one-off purchase for Image Rename version 1. Buy through your 3DJ account, then activate in Licence & pricing using an email code. Other 3DJ utilities are separate purchases.
