Is this for you?Who it helps · 10 practical use cases

For people who capture ideas, voice reminders and practical details on the move, especially when the information arrives in another language or a connection is unreliable.

  1. People working across languages

Record a voice reminder in the spoken language and choose another language for its written translation when online.

  2. Field workers and site visits

Capture notes, photographs and reminders during a visit, then organise them at your desk after syncing.

  3. Freelancers and small-business owners

Keep client notes, task reminders and supporting files together, with a quick voice capture when typing is inconvenient.

  4. Supplier calls and delivery follow-ups

Record your own reminder after a discussion and translate it into the language you prefer to work in.

  5. Students and language learners

Organise study notes and use short voice reminders to compare an original transcript with its translation.

  6. Travellers and commuters

Prepare Notes online, then read and edit saved notes without a connection and sync changes when you reconnect.

  7. Households managing appointments

Photograph appointment information, review the extracted date and time and create a reminder for the next step.

  8. Keeping track of bills

Scan a bill or invoice image for a payment due date, check the result and schedule a reminder.

  9. People moving from another notes app

Import supported exports or files, then organise the resulting notes into notebooks and tags.

  10. People switching between phone and desktop

Capture an idea on your phone, sync it to your account and continue editing on a larger screen.

Private by design

All your notes are encrypted.

Notes, reminders, revision history, imported content and attachments are encrypted before they are stored on our systems. Every account has its own random encryption key, protected separately from the database.

How we protect your data
01

Available offline

Open Notes online first and wait for Offline ready in Settings. Saved notes can then be read and edited without Wi-Fi, with changes queued on that device.

02

Speak in one language, read another

Record a reminder, choose its target language and keep the original transcript with the translation. AI processing takes place when you are online.

03

Bring dates and next steps into view

Scan a photograph of an appointment or bill, review the extracted details and set a reminder. Keep the source image and useful text together.

See it in action

A Spanish voice reminder. An English next step.

Capture the words while they are fresh, translate them into your chosen language and keep the resulting reminder with your notes. Review extracted dates before relying on them.

1Capture

Type a note, record a reminder, or add a photo or document. Choose the target language for a voice reminder.

2Keep working offline

Keep reading and editing notes already saved on the device. Voice translation, scanning, email and new cloud downloads need a connection.

3Sync and organise

Reconnect to sync changes and process pending voice reminders. Read the translated text, check the details and organise your next step.

Bring your notes with you

Moving should not mean starting again.

Import individual files or complete exports. 3DJ preserves titles, content and tags wherever the source format supplies them.

Questions, answered

Before your first note.

Can I use 3DJ Notes without internet?+

Yes, after preparing that device online. Open Notes, let your notes sync and check Settings for Offline ready. Saved notes can then be read and edited offline. AI translation, scanning, email and uncached attachments require internet. Browser storage must remain available on the device.

Does it work on Android and iPhone?+

Yes. Open 3DJ Notes in a modern browser and install it to your home screen as a PWA. Camera and microphone capture require HTTPS and your permission.

How do I install it on Android?+

Open 3DJ Notes in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, then choose Install app or Add to Home screen. Confirm the prompt and the 3DJ Notes icon will appear with your other apps.

How do I install it on an iPhone or iPad?+

Open 3DJ Notes in Safari, tap the Share button, choose Add to Home Screen, then tap Add. Apple requires Safari for this step; the option may not appear inside another app’s browser.

How do I add an icon on a Windows or Mac desktop?+

In Chrome or Edge, open 3DJ Notes and select the install icon in the address bar, or use the browser menu and choose Install app. Windows can pin it to Start or the taskbar; on a Mac, drag the installed app from Applications to the Dock.

Why can I not see the Install app option?+

Make sure you are using the secure HTTPS address in Chrome, Edge or Safari, are not in private browsing, and reload the page once. The option can also be hidden when the app is already installed.

Why did I not receive a reminder notification?+

Open Settings and enable background reminders, then allow notifications in your browser or installed app. On iPhone or iPad, install 3DJ Notes to the Home Screen before enabling notifications.

Can I organise notes into folders?+

Yes. Create notebooks and nested notebooks, move one note or a selected group, and continue using tags for topics that cross notebook boundaries.

Can I recover an older or deleted note?+

Yes. Deleted notes move to Trash, while note history lets you inspect and restore earlier saved versions. Sync conflicts preserve both edits as a clearly labelled conflict copy.

Can I attach files and use checklists?+

Yes. Notes can contain proper file attachments, rich text or interactive checklists. Attachments you open are retained for offline access on that device.

What can I import?+

You can import Joplin JEX or ZIP exports, generic CSV, Outlook Notes CSV, Markdown, text, HTML, JSON and Evernote ENEX files.

What happens after the free month?+

Choose the £2 monthly plan or the £10 annual plan. Your notes remain attached to your account; an active plan is required to continue syncing and editing in the app.

Can I email a note?+

Yes. Send it inside an email or attach it as a text, PDF or Microsoft Word document.

How do voice reminders work?+

Record a reminder in the spoken language and choose the language you want to read. When online, Notes transcribes the audio and translates it into that target language, retaining the original transcript. You can choose a different target language for another reminder. General translation of typed notes and translated read-aloud playback are not currently available.

Can I organise notes?+

Notes can be searched, tagged, pinned and sorted by title, creation date, last update or your own order.

Are my notes shared with other customers?+

No. Every note, reminder and private attachment is linked to your signed-in 3DJ account and checked on every request.

Are my notes encrypted?+

Yes. Notes, reminders, revision history, imported content, attachment names and files are encrypted at application level before storage. Every account has its own random key, protected separately from the database. This is encryption at rest rather than end-to-end encryption because authorised content must be temporarily decrypted for syncing, export and AI features you request.

How do I install 3DJ Notes and enable notifications on my phone?+

On Android, open 3DJ Notes in Chrome, use the three-dot menu to choose Install app or Add to Home screen, then open the installed app and select Menu, Settings, Enable background reminders. Allow notifications when Android asks; if reminders are delayed, set battery use for 3DJ Notes to Unrestricted. On iPhone or iPad, use Safari, tap Share, Add to Home Screen, then open 3DJ Notes from its new icon and enable background reminders in Settings. Web notifications on Apple devices require iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later and only work after the app has been added to the Home Screen.
